Fortnite is offline for server maintenance, as Epic Games releases the final patch of season 5.
Fortnite update 5.41 is about to go live on PS4, Xbox One, PC, iOS and Nintendo Switch.
The update adds the new Port-a-Fortress item, and makes a host of bug fixes and gameplay tweaks.
But before the update can go live, players must first suffer some server downtime.
The Fortnite servers have been officially been taken offline by Epic Games as of 9am.
“Downtime for patch v5.41 has begun,” reads an Epic tweet. “Find out what you can expect once we come back online in this week’s Patch Notes.”
The Fortnite servers will likely be offline for a couple of hours, so expect the game to come back online at around 11am UK time.
Express Online will keep you updated with any developments.
Update 5.41’s biggest new addition will be the brand new Port-a-Fortress item.
“Toss down the Port-a-Fortress and take defence to new heights,” reads the in-game description.
Judging by the description, the Port-a-Fortress is a bigger version of the Port-a-Fort.
Launching as part of this week’s update, the Port-a-Fortress is a Legendary item, so don’t expect to see too many on the map.
