Pokemon Go fans can earn new rewards and capture new Pokemon as part of October’s Field Research update.
Pokemon Go developer Niantic has unleashed a host of new rewards this month, including a brand new Shiny.
One of the research tasks challenges players to capture five water Pokemon. Complete this mission and you’ll earn an encounter with Krabby, which now has a Shiny form.
“This October, completing certain water-themed Field Research tasks will reward Trainers with the opportunity to encounter the River Crab Pokemon, Krabby!” reads a Niantic tweet.
“Some lucky Trainers might even encounter a Shiny Krabby!”
Another field research task rewards players with a Spinda encounter, only this time it has a different form.
As The Silph Road points out, the task in question asks players to make two great curved throws in a row.
The updated Spinda has slightly different markings to the previous version.
This month’s Legendary Pokemon reward is also live, which means players can capture Suicune.
“October Field Research tasks featuring the Aurora Pokémon, Suicune, are now live!” Niantic tweets.
If you want to capture Suicune, just complete one research task a day to unlock a new stamp.
Once you’ve got seven stamps, you’ll be rewarded with an encounter with Suicune.
The news comes just days after Niantic announced the Community Day for October.
The next Community Day event takes place between 10am and 1pm UK time on October 21 and focuses on Beldum.
In addition to increased Beldum spawn rates, players can also take advantage of decreased egg hatching distances and 3-hour lures.
The October Community Day event is perfect for anybody yet to capture or evolve a Metang and Metagross.
Metagross will also know an exclusive special move if evolved during the October Community Day event.
